Here is my idea of a perfect summer day! Enjoying time with the family on the lake. Usually I bring along a good book to read on the ride. Can never seem to have too many days like this. I’m hoping for many, many more this year!
I’m getting sadder to be leaving my job to start a new one. I am really going to miss the people.
So today we will talk about Gus at the dog park! We just got back and he had a blast 🙂 He found a 9-month old Weimaraner puppy that he just loved. They played together for a very long time. They were finding sticks and running in and out of the pond. They were having such a good time and it was really fun to watch them play. It helped me take my mind off work and it wore off a lot of his energy.
Here are some pictures that I took of him today!
For this weeks photo challenge I found this picture from a Lady Gaga concert. We were so high up and so far away it was hard to get any clear pictures. This is the opening of the concert before she even came out. It’s cool because it is her image on the big screen before they raise it to show the stage.
This second “unfocused” picture is Craig and me on our 1 year anniversary. He surprised me by taking me to dinner and then on a horse-drawn carriage ride. This photo is from my iPhone camera. I love this photo because it is one of the best from that night.
Today was inventory day at work. It turned out to be a very successful day and we actually finished up early. We all took lunch at the same time and had a pizza party which was fun.
Craig just got done painting the bathroom ceiling and it looks really nice! We went up to Menard’s and got a new shower curtain too which is exciting. It is actually the same one that we had before. It matches the wallpaper and the wall tile pretty well. We are hoping to take the wallpaper down this summer and paint. After that the bathroom should be completely, completely done (I hope). Craig is in total rework mode. He has just been working on everything lately but I have to say that everything is looking really nice.
I mentioned how Craig and all the guys played paintball last weekend. Well, Craig loved it so much that he actually bought a paintball gun online. He is so excited about it. He never fails to make me laugh. I hope that it pays off and he is able to go out and play often.
Just got done watching New Girl and now on to Fashion Star! What a good night for TV!
Here comes the
good bittersweet news….I was offered a job at the company I applied and interviewed! Today I put in my official notice of resignation at my current job which was very difficult. I am very excited for my new job though so that helped me get through. My start date is in 2 weeks! Last week I wrote about the book Next-Day Job Interview: Prepare Tonight and Get the Job Tomorrow and how great I think the book is. The book was very helpful in every aspect up to getting the job, but said nothing about how to quit your current one. It was very stressful and I ended up googling how to write a letter of resignation. It all turned out fine and everyone is very happy for me and my new opportunity! I am really going to miss all of my coworkers and the company but this is a really good opportunity to move forward with my career.
After work things got even better. My mom, aunt, and cousin, Sarah (who is newly engaged) went wedding dress shopping! She found the PERFECT most beautiful dress for her and when she rang the bell for good luck we all cried! It was such an awesome, emotional experience that I never want to forget! I am soo happy for her 😀 We went to dinner after and had a really nice time. Now we are all stuffed and happy.
The boys all go together and played paintball this afternoon. I will have to ask Craig about the details when he wakes up. He has to leave for work tonight at 9pm so he will be up soon. All I know is that they had a good time and I think Craig only got hit once, he is so sneaky! LOL
Here are the pictures from Gus’ birthday. He doesn’t like pictures so it’s hard to get good ones of him. I took these with the flash off so he didn’t realize I was taking them. In the first picture he is looking up at a treat that I am holding. In the second picture he is playing with his new raccoon birthday toy. We are careful what toys we buy him because he likes to chew them up and eat them. This one is good because it has no stuffing but has an empty water bottle inside. Well, we thought it was good. It has been 3 days and he has already 2 of the legs off. Silly dog.
Mark, my little brother, came over tonight to hangout. Him, Craig and I went out to dinner. We went to Jake’s City Grille. The food was awesome and we all had a good time. Now Craig has left for work and Mark and I are watching the movie Jack and Jill with Adam Sandler. So far the movie seems alright. It has some pretty funny parts and its entertaining.
Well, back to watching the movie… 🙂
Today is Gus’ 7th birthday. That is all I am going to say.
I have just spent the last hour writing this post then I lost it and now it just lost it for the second time.
Gotta go to work.
