Dog Park

Standard

I’m getting sadder to be leaving my job to start a new one. I am really going to miss the people.

So today we will talk about Gus at the dog park! We just got back and he had a blast :) He found a 9-month old Weimaraner puppy that he just loved. They played together for a very long time. They were finding sticks and running in and out of the pond. They were having such a good time and it was really fun to watch them play. It helped me take my mind off work and it wore off a lot of his energy.

Here are some pictures that I took of him today!

Weekly Photo Challege: Unfocused

Standard

For this weeks photo challenge I found this picture from a Lady Gaga concert. We were so high up and so far away it was hard to get any clear pictures. This is the opening of the concert before she even came out. It’s cool because it is her image on the big screen before they raise it to show the stage.

This second “unfocused” picture is Craig and me on our 1 year anniversary. He surprised me by taking me to dinner and then on a horse-drawn carriage ride. This photo is from my iPhone camera. I love this photo because it is one of the best from that night.

Inventory

Standard

Today was inventory day at work. It turned out to be a very successful day and we actually finished up early. We all took lunch at the same time and had a pizza party which was fun.

Craig just got done painting the bathroom ceiling and it looks really nice! We went up to Menard’s and got a new shower curtain too which is exciting. It is actually the same one that we had before. It matches the wallpaper and the wall tile pretty well. We are hoping to take the wallpaper down this summer and paint. After that the bathroom should be completely, completely done (I hope). Craig is in total rework mode. He has just been working on everything lately but I have to say that everything is looking really nice.

I mentioned how Craig and all the guys played paintball last weekend. Well, Craig loved it so much that he actually bought a paintball gun online. He is so excited about it. He never fails to make me laugh. I hope that it pays off and he is able to go out and play often.

Just got done watching New Girl and now on to Fashion Star! What a good night for TV!

2 Weeks

Standard

Here comes the good bittersweet news….I was offered a job at the company I applied and interviewed! Today I put in my official notice of resignation at my current job which was very difficult. I am very excited for my new job though so that helped me get through. My start date is in 2 weeks! Last week I wrote about the book Next-Day Job Interview: Prepare Tonight and Get the Job Tomorrow and how great I think the book is. The book was very helpful in every aspect up to getting the job, but said nothing about how to quit your current one. It was very stressful and I ended up googling how to write a letter of resignation. It all turned out fine and everyone is very happy for me and my new opportunity! I am really going to miss all of my coworkers and the company but this is a really good opportunity to move forward with my career.

After work things got even better. My mom, aunt, and cousin, Sarah (who is newly engaged) went wedding dress shopping! She found the PERFECT most beautiful dress for her and when she rang the bell for good luck we all cried! It was such an awesome, emotional experience that I never want to forget! I am soo happy for her :D   We went to dinner after and had a really nice time. Now we are all stuffed and happy.

The boys all go together and played paintball this afternoon. I will have to ask Craig about the details when he wakes up. He has to leave for work tonight at 9pm so he will be up soon. All I know is that they had a good time and I think Craig only got hit once, he is so sneaky! LOL

Gus’ Birthday Pictures

Standard

Here are the pictures from Gus’ birthday. He doesn’t like pictures so it’s hard to get good ones of him. I took these with the flash off so he didn’t realize I was taking them. In the first picture he is looking up at a treat that I am holding. In the second picture he is playing with his new raccoon birthday toy. We are careful what toys we buy him because he likes to chew them up and eat them. This one is good because it has no stuffing but has an empty water bottle inside. Well, we thought it was good. It has been 3 days and he has already 2 of the legs off. Silly dog.

Mark, my little brother, came over tonight to hangout. Him, Craig and I went out to dinner. We went to Jake’s City Grille. The food was awesome and we all had a good time. Now Craig has left for work and Mark and I are watching the movie Jack and Jill with Adam Sandler. So far the movie seems alright. It has some pretty funny parts and its entertaining.

Well, back to watching the movie… :)

Crack!

Standard

Chiropractor. I went to the chiropractor today because my back has ached for the past few weeks. She really cracked me up this morning and then had me go back this afternoon for a second adjustment. I knew it was hurting. I just got done icing and I’m already feeling better and I will be going back Friday.

I’m doing some cleaning and tidying around the house tonight because Craig and I both get frustrated when things get messy. I’m hoping he is very surprised how good it looks when he walks in the door tomorrow morning. I have to limit my activity though because I do not want to hurt my back. I just spent the last hour switching between Dancing with the Stars and The Voice. Now I’m sucked in to the Behind the Scenes of Dancing with the Stars. So you can imagine how much cleaning is actually getting done. LOL

The best part about today was seeing a few friends and family and doing a little shopping. Here is Maureen and I at lunch today. She is my forever roommate because I will always consider her my roommate! It was so good seeing her today even though it was for such a short time (I will see you and Chrisbay more on Wednesday!).

Well, back to icing!

Fun Day

Standard

I had the day off work today so I decided to make a trip to Wisconsin to visit my parents. My mom and I just got done painting our nails with Shellac. It is so awesome! She did hers with red and mine are a charcoal color. We tried to take a picture but it just turned out really awkward.

This morning Craig and I took Gus to the dog park. He hasn’t been there in a while so he was very excited to run around and play with the other dogs. It’s always a good time. I am heading back home tonight so I can be with Gus since Craig will be at work tonight.

I had to call my interviewer today to do a mock phone call similar to the ones I would be doing on the job. It was pretty fun but of course I was a little nervous. He said that I did a good job and to take the weekend to see if this would be a job that would interest me. I am very interested. It will be a big change of pace from my current job but hopefully in a good way. I should find out next week whether I get hired!

My little brother, Mark, will be here tonight around 8. He works in Minneapolis and is driving up for the weekend. I am planning on staying here long enough to see him. We will just have to see where the day leads.

Well, time to help my mom cook dinner! YUM!

Back to “Normal”

Standard

Craig and I are going to get back in to our routine of going to the gym tonight. It’s been about 2 weeks and we are feeling the difference. It will be nice to get back there. Hopefully, it will help to relieve the unwanted stress from job searching and what not.

Also, the bathroom is almost back to normal again too. Craig is working on installing the vanity now (picture to come). It’s been quite the process and its hard for Craig since he works 3rd shift. Can’t wait for it all to be finished!

I did stop and Barnes & Nobel yesterday and pick up a couple of books. I’m hoping to get Stedman Graham’s Identity: Your Passport to Success book finished very quickly. It looks like it will be a quick read. Maybe when I’m done I will have a better idea for the next step in my career. I did apply for a promotion at work today so we will see what comes of that in the next few weeks.

Op, we gotta run to Menard’s quick! We need a piece for the sink!
