Birth-Weekend Surprise

Craig has been planning a birthday surprise for me since February and today I finally found out what it is! My friend Layce flew in from Colorado today and Maureen came over from Wisconsin. I am so surprised and happy to see them both!!

This afternoon Craig told me we had to go to the airport to pick up his cousin. We are sitting there waiting for her to get off the plane and I there is Layce! Then we get to dinner and Maureen shows up! Now more people just walked in the door visiting from Chicago! What an amazing surprise!!

Well I better visit with my guests!!

Fortune?

Monday, my first day at my new job, we went to lunch at Leeann Chin. I didn’t think a thing of it all until I read my fortune…

Great. So I’m sitting at lunch on my first day and now I have this to think about. I’m going to take this as a reminder to stay positive no matter what I do. This week has been such an emotional rollercoaster. I have already learned a lot and am exhausted. TGIF (tomorrow)!!

Writing…

I’m not a writer but this is my 35 post. That means I have written for over one month. Not long posts, just short posts everyday mixed with posts mostly taken up by pictures. For me it has been a lot. I would say I am hitting some sort of wall right about now. Maybe I need to post fewer entries a week. I’m not sure. I love my blog and reading others as well. There are some really amazing writers out there. Maybe once I get my new camera I will be able to post more photography related posts giving me a topic and fewer typed words.

Only 2 more days of work (training) this week. Things seem to be going pretty well. Next week will be good since I will start working on my own. I just want this weekend to be here so I can find out what Craig has planned for my birthday!

I took this picture in Pula, Croatia in January 2008. I love the picture and it’s very BLUE!

It is always so fun to look through the old pictures and it brings back so many good memories. A group of about 20 students and I spent 2 weeks touring around Europe, mostly Croatia and it counted for college credits! It was a great experience and I would love to go back and visit.

Day 1 Done

Finished my first day at my new job today. I think it’s going to go really well. This week will be all training which is good. I got a pretty good feel for the company and what I will be doing daily. Hopefully by the end of the week I will be really comfortable there!

I am so exhausted though! I am honestly about ready to fall asleep. This is going to be a long week of learning but it will all pay off in the end. My birthday is this weekend so there is something to look forward to! Craig has plans for us on Saturday night but he is keeping it a secret from me. I have been trying to get him to slip up and tell me but have no luck. He has been keeping it from me for over 2 months!! He says not to worry. I’m sure it will be something fun

Last night was the series finale for Desperate Housewives. I am still 2 episodes behind. I need to catch up so I can watch the finale. I can’t believe it’s over. I’m going to try and squeeze one in tonight before I fall asleep!

Not Ashamed

I’m not ashamed. It’s Saturday night and I am home getting ready for bed and I couldn’t be happier. Craig left for work at 9pm and I am settling in for a relaxing night. We stopped at Best Buy tonight to check out some cameras. My birthday is one week from today and I’m thinking of purchasing new camera for myself. I was looking at getting a Canon but the gentleman at Best Buy also showed me some great Sony cameras. I am not very camera savvy so I need to check some reviews online before purchasing. So tonight I plan on doing a little camera shopping online and possibly finishing up the last 100 pages of Mockingjay. Chances are I will only be able to get through a few pages before falling asleep mid-sentence.

Today was my last day of work before I start my new job on Monday. It was so hard saying goodbye to everyone but I plan on stopping in to say hi soon!! Everyone was so sweet today and I will truly miss working there. After work today Craig and I went to a local coffee shop to watch my friend Amy perform some of her songs. I want to give a huge shout out to her for doing such an amazing job! It was her first live performance as dRea. She puts so much emotion and hard work into her music and I couldn’t be prouder. Dog Park

I’m getting sadder to be leaving my job to start a new one. I am really going to miss the people.

So today we will talk about Gus at the dog park! We just got back and he had a blast He found a 9-month old Weimaraner puppy that he just loved. They played together for a very long time. They were finding sticks and running in and out of the pond. They were having such a good time and it was really fun to watch them play. It helped me take my mind off work and it wore off a lot of his energy.
